This is the -- castle show. -- and charge my batteries specialists who rabbit out of the week our final hour before we hand you over if you Rush Limbaugh will do our best. To get -- there was some compelling talk radio all morning long. Singles advantage -- -- have been jailed and that's a good thing because that's what I'm most interested in whatever you wanna talk about. And as -- as someone gets whatever they wanna -- said. Then you can grab aligning -- -- to 329673. Spartanburg. 5749673. Another way to thank -- that rebuilt Q3 two WORD. Spartanburg. 574 WORD. And if you wanna Texas Houston WORD. Text like number 713. 070. I get to the big news about obamacare. But first let me I've talked to folks who held on through the news. Hot rod is in travelers rest high. I really appreciate the show you sort of first stop uploaded out of an -- that tax for the road. I I just I can't cut out of they come up with fifty point 5%. Being in favor of raising the gasoline tax I guess is still you know what three dollars or more -- gallon. Yep sure is. Anyway that's about like called resilience. But my question what have you apologized to the previous caller. About the situation in -- clear because everything he's -- there. The lady that lives they're actually validated about all that so you've got to ruffled invoke at all what. About how he treated me. I don't think he treated you badly when he set I was out of touch and I was clueless and I needed to do researcher and I didn't do all of that. Now and plus he was a hypocrite because if you'll notice what he said hot rod. He he was complaining. About people going over to show -- clear to trick or treat. -- he admitted that he took his own kids there and hadn't been in quote a couple of years so -- excited about it so hastily. But an -- -- neighborhood that's that's possible but. I think everything eat good food pretty much run -- and she verified. I I just disagree because it if he's cut the -- the initial purpose of this call. The best I could tell was to complain about all these people going into -- clear to trick or treat. Yet he admitted that he had been there although not in the last spoke quote a couple of years. So you have to come away with the impression that first Roy had a horrible attitude in my opinion and second of all. That it's okay for his kids to go there but it's not OK for other people take their kids there. The other and write that but I mean I could provide some Togo who witnessed I get that degree but maybe pinpointed yeah it's just the redistribution of candy. I mean that's the problem. Or throw -- at the but how well you know. Aids its actually not the redistribution of candy we're not taking Arnold take somebody's candy and then go out there and give it to somebody else I don't know what you do -- I'd actually go by. The candy. Operative but how would anyway well we don't either but -- throw -- -- -- we did. The difference in redistribution. At least what I think you're talking about is when you take somebody else's property to give it to somebody else that would be like. If I went to the Halloween. It would somebody's door. And I took older candy contribute to my house and started him -- out. And then there are some people who do that back a big impact at F I -- for the -- let's see Maurice the end of Woodruff high Morris. Lou Kerry didn't do look. My question want. Do you remember -- -- -- Spector got a target. In South Carolina you may know. Note to start out we. You know. Okay well I'm maybe a little bit older -- being year round -- because they have in years so -- okay. The wake of the failed to express started it started bit and national sales tax. The World War II veterans the government. People had to vote on whether or not the for the attacks. That they're World War II veterans were gonna receive. I. -- a hundred dollar. Bonus. This starter. Okay and the only way -- paper they had the people had been vote on the tax. And it was a 3% sales tax it was a national sales tax which later got transferred to the states. And -- -- take something about the sales taxes. With 500 dollars. Just owned -- vehicle's -- -- -- both in my last term with a 300 dollar cap on failed active. I have more. I'm being. I don't know I don't know -- many dollars I have given to that the government. Two more than paper -- -- -- that 500 dollar bonus but not everything it because he would the World War II veteran. Yeah. Did you know -- Well it's like you know I didn't but it's like most things and most taxes quite frankly you wave when it comes at a government. They it may start out for actually some good intentions and then what do they do. They've been great they keep it an eight and and then expanded. At an aid they deceive people about it it's like a hero Tom -- what is that tax that we've been paying for -- that's on your phone bill. NM NM started I can't remember most of my head but it but it never it. That -- the point is it never ever goes away and I'm just at the hoping to. I think that the powers that be whether they be county council or in in the state are certainly at the federal level. They have proven they cannot be trusted with -- any more of our money we've been we've been kind to them. We forked over a lot of money. And you know is some a -- I'll admit. Has done some good. But a lot of it also has been wasted. And -- there comes a time there comes a day of reckoning. Yeah and in you you have to be held accountable. When you're asking for. In case the county counsel what they're proposing is the largest sales tax increase in the history of this county 65 million dollars. And that's just in the first year. And so -- I think I think they've gotten enough -- borrow money it's time to leave money in people's pockets. Because that's the only way you're gonna get this economy back on track not taking more money out of their pocket. Or more here bill in great -- hi bill. IRS so I want to bring multi party. And I -- do most of them know that both try to get a and memo banning will be our next meeting which is the seventh this coming Thursday. At his end in downtown during their own minds -- man at 630. And also like to make one comment about the -- it's coming up. If it's inside the may have played. Brazen attacks since the end approved and start spending money on roads -- -- assailed this around them on much much less money if when you think that bit illogical conclusion. Yes except adds there's gonna be a big push and what we were talking about a little bit last hour with this went for pole. At the same time that county council is going down this road of of raising a local option sales tax supposedly for roads. The there's going to be a push to increase the gas tax in South Carolina. And that's supposed to be for roads and plus the law that Nikki Haley signed into law earlier this year. Will will bring a billion dollars. In in in taxes for roads and that's without any kind of tax increase so. You know -- you've got so many entities that work here and all I see bill. Is they are they they lost after money. They did they just they absolutely think about it 24/7. All they can think about. Rather than solving problems it's how much more money they can spend on problems and not -- And if they're not efficient I've read an article that said the Ito a number of road as far as. Made properly. Well I got a right here in front is what do you bring it up paper it was Tim Smith in the Greenville news wrote about it this week to headline because we have one of these roads need to be repaired so often. So Tim Smith of Greenville news did some research. And here's what -- spending to headline says it all sub standard materials leads to crumbling South Carolina roads. And quite frankly I don't know why that's allowed -- let me talk about that a second bill thank you. Himself drawn taxpayers spend hundreds of millions of dollars each year. Resurfacing in building roads many of which. Begin deteriorating within the first their first two decades. Records obtained and analyzed by the Greenville news. Suggest that one reason for the deterioration. In some upstate roads. Is a failure by contractors to meet pavement standards. Set by state government. Standards that are similar to those of neighboring states about 6% of tests of newly paved roads fail. Pavement tests and resolved. In financial penalties according to records they got to a Freedom of Information Act. While 61 -- and and nervously standards statewide. Or admit about 1% of the time. And Smith says the possibility exists that the records showing that contractors failed to meet these standards for asphalt compaction. Could be understating the problem. And the cost to taxpayers according to one former contractor. With long experience and wrote an airport construction. And he's identified as Bobby on the Beasley. He said his former Florida engineering firm. Once played taxi ways done at Miami International Airport he wrote in a letter to governor Haley. That he had watched pavement resurfacing and maintenance crews in the upstate in recent years. And has concluded that week standards. Testing and oversight. As well as port construction techniques have resulted in roads that Wear out far sooner. Then they should. Now the state transportation secretary Robert on the show I think is that same orange. How would you say a wind GT. Well I'll stick for the launch. Responded to the allegations with a letter explaining. That the state transportation. Agency uses certified inspectors on road sides. Takes many tests and follows applicable state and national standards. However he declined to answer the question. At the heart of Bob -- of these -- letter whether flaws and road building or painting. Lead eventually to deterioration and flaws in the roads. Asked whether it was possible. That flaws in the process of paving a road could cause deterioration. That the chairman Johnny Edwards of travelers rest guy I know referred Jews that the letter to mr. young. Saying quote I'm going to concur with what the secretary said in the letter of course anything's possible you know that right now I think the secretary answered it. As good as he could. There's more to this story the folks in the asphalt industry responded but it you know folks just think about it just. Have you ever. If you lived here for -- have you ever noticed. That they re -- -- And then he just doesn't seem to be very long after that it does roads into default -- I have lived here all my life. On more than one occasion. I said my goodness why are they having to resurface. That road. -- no longer a big did that road. Which leaves me just my conclusion by opinion. That there is something sub standard about it. That the standards are being -- investors -- You're welcome to respond and thanks to bill for bringing about our big news about obamacare debate last night. And again it CBS. On the CBS evening news with Scott Kelly was on the list. Or 31 days now the Obama administration has been telling us that Americans by the millions are visiting the new health insurance web site. Despite all of its problems but no one in the administration has been willing to tell us how many policies have been purchased and this may be the recent CBS news has learned enrollments got off to an incredibly slow start -- -- concerned obtained documents that haven't been seen by the public until now. Early enrollment figures are contained in notes from twice a day war room meetings convened within the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services after the website failed on October 1. They were turned over in response to a document request from the house oversight committee. The website launched on Tuesday. Publicly the government said there were four point seven million unique visit -- the first 24 hours. But at a meeting Wednesday morning the warmer and no -- -- enrollments have occurred so far. -- with blue cross blue shield North Carolina and Kansas City care source and health care service corporation. I Wednesday afternoon enrollments are up to approximately 100. By the end of Wednesday the notes reflect 248. Enrollment nationwide. The health care exchanges need to averaged 39000. Enrollees in -- -- the goal of seven million by march 1. The Warren -- get a glimpse into some other reasons customers had problems. Director enrollment signing up directly on insurers website is not working for any issuers. Experian credit reporting agency is creating confusion with credit check information. -- phone numbers are not appearing correctly on the pain now page. And no sleep no doubt that the enrollment figures was the administration has chosen to keep secret. Are available statistics coming and they notes from the very first meeting the morning of October 2. Contractor -- that I has a daily dashboard created every night. But the head of the amassed Maryland tab and there wouldn't disclose the figures and Dave Camp chair of the house Ways and Means Committee asked earlier this week. How do you not know how many people have enrolled. Chairman can -- we'll have those numbers available in the November. Health and human services today television no position -- -- market that's enrollment figures because it doesn't have any. That's because they're content does that enrollment was always expected to start very slowly and then iiroc NN the deadline imposed. -- -- and that says Cheryl Atkinson last night I don't know what you get out of that folks what I gather they lied they lied again before congress. They knew what the figures were Cheryl Atkinson just shared them with you. And they lied before conference they don't want people to know. What a disaster this is the other big news about obamacare. I'm sure Limbaugh all the talk about this coming up next. So we heard this week one of the big stories. Is the big Obama -- Then he told over and over again feel like your doctor you keep it if you like your insurance you can keep it now it's well. If you don't like it go shopping. RBA you and keep it as long as we approve of it. But -- it's a little more serious -- US news and world report. Has some more bad. Obamacare news. The nation's top hospitals. May not accept mini obamacare policies. And here's what they rights. The Obama administration has been claiming that insurance companies. Will be competing for your dollars under Obama care but apparently. They have been surveyed. The top hospitals in the country. Americans who sign up for obamacare will be getting a big surprise. If they expect to access to premium health care. That may have been previously covered under their personal policies most of the top hospitals. Will accept insurance from just one or two companies under obamacare. Gail Wilensky Medicare advisor for the second Bush Administration. This doesn't surprise me. There has been an incredible amount of focus on the premium cost and subsidy. And precious little focus. On what you get for your money. Regulations driven by the Obama White House had indeed made insurance more affordable. If like. Kathleen Sebelius. You're looking only at the price. But responding to obamacare caps on premiums. Many insurers will in turn simply offered top -- doctors and hospitals far less cash. For services rendered. Watchdog dot org looked at the top eighteen hospitals in the country as ranked by US news and world report. For Tony thirteen 2014. They contacted every hospital. To determine their contracts. Talked to several insurance companies as well the result of their investigation. Many top hospitals. Are simply opting out of obamacare. They -- chances are the individual play and you purchased outside obamacare. What allowed to go you'd go to these facilities for example. Fourth rated Cleveland clinic except dozens of insurance plans if you buy one on your own but go through obamacare. And you have just one choice Medical Mutual of Ohio and that's not because there exchanges. Don't offer options both Ohio and California have a dozen insurance companies on their exchanges yet two of the State's premier hospitals Cleveland clinic. And cedar Sinai medical center. Have only one company in their networks. And if you like Johns Hopkins of Baltimore are mandated under state law to accept -- whole insurance companies other than that. The hospital with the largest number of insurance companies is university hospitals case medical center in Cleveland. With just. For. Out of the eighteen contacted. Only eleven. Had -- out for eleven had just one or two carriers. Soul. What can we conclude. You may love your doctor. You may love your insurance company a lot of people. You know have a pretty strong opinion. About a particular hospital even right here in our area well you may not be able to go to that hospital. What what do disaster and the New York Post says. It's not just the hospitals opting out. Now doctors. Are saying I'm not gonna do it. Here's what they write New York doctors are treating Obama care like the plague. A new survey reveals. A poll conducted by the New York State medical society. Finds that 44%. Of the Indies. Said they -- are not and will not participate. In obamacare and another 33%. Say they're just not sure whether to become Obama care providers only 23%. To. Of the 409 doctors they contacted at the New York Post. Said they are taking patients. Who signed up through the obamacare. Exchanges. Still think this thing is an answer to a problem still think this thing is a great deal. Oh come on folks. Are quick break 1125. Well yes I get right back to the Eagles advantage talk line numbers billion bring though your next time. Hey -- thanks again for taking my call on your I don't -- detract from the Obama -- store but you know being at the City Council. Special meeting last week now. It was an incredible those -- well I'll think about it and showing up because what they were so many about the gas attacks and there were only a handful. Maybe two or three people like with some kind of a bicycle stick around they're long they're you know -- -- to counsel into -- -- it's -- your account yeah couple yeah. And up. I don't know which one is worse but anyway we did have some people standing up for Joseph until courts -- -- -- a great job you know -- and we had you know that's it's that the regular but -- went through. Who wrote it. Let's payment and especially I was disappointed in paint red paint because spread pain actually sat there and -- I had -- -- well -- my car because -- -- -- -- -- we got I mean I couldn't believe it's okay let me see the bill wanted to speak. Where you replace food I had some are bad roads come out -- -- -- I as a stripper well my sense of it is there's just a lot more behind this that has nothing to do with roads or road maintenance. There's there's not a means seriously. It really does not make any sense whatsoever. And unless of course you look -- -- that -- the viewpoint of liberalism. We need to take more money take more money take more money promise everybody the moon every problem will be solved. And then what the net thing we're we're going to be broke were already tapped out and end of the roads are still going to be a problem. All telling of the fact it's an adult bicycle there and I have nothing gets the bicycle -- -- -- -- a road tax and I'll share the road with. Yeah now you. Out of state -- bed forever bread why should they did they had they're in their newsletter. They wanted to push for what they called the roads plus plan. And they actually included in that a survey which said whole vast majority of people support that they actually mentioned Billy. That the 65 million would be enough. To build a second swamp rabbit trail -- reason enough it's never enough. They want to be the bicycle capital of the world we've got these great role models like stuff. And -- and of course Lance Armstrong great role model of what a lot higher the principal to be like next. What -- got it just doesn't make a -- -- Citic approximate county council. When they were up they're talking and I remember outside going in our I heard these words. I remembered Joseph ball went selling someone. You don't what you don't understand or forty -- specifically to what the people don't understand I want somebody starts talking like that. Load those phones up burn up those line calling bed and call his -- called up Taylor called butch -- and of course -- -- they would vote. But all these people who voted well they don't you -- -- what is -- lots what is up with Taylor. -- be you know electric finger sticks in the air and see which way that -- I mean and you know you Bob Jones folks what what is up for Bob Taylor. Being in favor of this anyway Billy thank you Josh -- is golden from no tax hike SE dot com I just read your pace. In intercepting a lot of lot of small bit of artillery you know that they're both tax hike in -- -- -- And I mean this could -- it really really hurt small business and which which will basically -- could put. Well you know they don't go -- and better yet they can go to your website no tax hike SE dot com and to get educated I'm trying to get up toward as much as I can't. And is a thing about it is Josh. If they don't -- reconsider. Next Tuesday and I know that's gonna be proposed at the county council meeting in the regular on the schedule one not the emergency session. But do we still have a year we have a year. And we will go adamant they want a war they got a war. All though you know the -- curtains of the world that they're they're laughing at it any effort now he -- he thinks he's home free. Brian well. Who is -- beholden to this but behind the scenes pushing people like butch and lists -- And the other folks who's who's put the pressure on them. -- took it for these largest tax increase in the history every vote counting that well I gotta get out. It -- -- they got a war so. Don't try to encourage. You can go to you are no tech tight FE dot com wouldn't put information about its got a late tomorrow. In how people can get involved you know we just got to go left to people that are not representing not. Thank and appreciate -- Thank you sir appreciate that -- right -- couple last things wrapping up the week. I just say this morning -- say Bravo Texas that you've been hearing and all morning a a federal appeals court. Issued a ruling yesterday reinstating most of that controversial law in Texas restricting abortion. And this comes three days after a federal judge ruled that these you know was unconstitutional panel of judges at the fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans. Said this Texas law requiring doctors to have admitting privileges at a nearby hospital. Can take effect. Well a lawsuit challenging all these restrictions -- forward. The the panel's decision means at least twelve clinics will not be able to do abortions. Starting today in Texas. And I say way to go Texas and I just want to remind you folks. A similar proposal was made right here in South Carolina this was after. You know the current Gaza know Philadelphia. Horror clinic when that was in the news earlier this year. And so there were folks here in South Carolina said this this is a big issue. You know even even for people who are pro abortion. It's just about having some kind of safety standard. You know -- what we learned too big Gaza is now whole house of horrors. Is it wasn't just the baby's -- it it was the bond like a patient's life going to under. And so an effort was made here in south -- wanted to do pretty much exactly. What Texas did. And I just want to remind you they're cowards. In the legislature here shot that down. Because that's what they are they campaign as conservatives they campaign as pro life. But when the moment of truth comes. They backed down. That happened earlier this year I say -- Texas. At least a few babies. Won't be slaughtered today. Also speaking of Texas. A Texas court of criminal appeals. Citing the First Amendment. Struck down a law that banned sexually explicit Internet communication. Between an adult and a minor. The Austin statesman reported quote perverts. Will be free to bombard our children with salacious emails and text messages. And parents and law enforcement. Would be unable to -- State lawyers argued in the ruling. Now the State's highest court upheld a law that bans sexual solicitation of miners judge Cathy Cochran who wrote the opinion. Said the law was previously written in a way that covers a whole cornucopia. Of titillating talk. She pointed out that it would include fifty shades of gray. And even some Shakespeare. She mentioned that Janet Jackson's famous wardrobe malfunction during the Super Bowl would be improperly covered by the law. -- -- The law may protect children from suspected sexual predators before they ever express any intent to commit illegal sexual acts. But it prohibits the dissemination. Of a vast array of constitutionally protected speech and materials. Mark Bennett an attorney represented detective Texas man who represented a 53 year old. Accused of sending sexually explicit text messages to a teenager. May see the charges dropped after this for -- so talking dirty. On the Internet. You know these old geezer perverts. Out there trolling for young people. Apparently according to this court that is fine. Under the First Amendment. You gotta be kidding. I welcome your thoughts. Levin 45 back in a moment. And let's jump up to Asheville and talk to lose hi Lou there's only carry you. I'm -- glad to welcome and don't you wonder what the world don't know when they hit the people there yes there every every waking moment to. I don't understand it -- it got a little bit interesting trivia that gentleman out and you that they may sixteenth while I'm in here about the things yeah. So I'm guy. Little trivia about sales tax and many here. Whoever -- senator or whatever that aren't right it. Would be interested to know that the sales tax -- started -- Warren thing on a ballot. And that's where nineteen now aren't you getting well is because if you went to the country starting in 1990. You only had it you didn't quite well for a. All things are price like 999. As opposed to Big Ten dollars. -- -- -- And so if you if you've -- -- balance -- and you had to -- a unique experience bomb yeah and -- back in the early already -- -- a warmer and yup you know. Only an idiot you know on. I am in favor. Of a national retail sales tax bug. The big caveat is it would replace. Income taxes withholding. Where you get to keep everything you make and it will work I mean there have been books written about it. But is that the problem we have here is it's not just sales taxes it's income taxes it's a gazillion other types of taxes or fees. And Enron and the American people are just fed up -- that I know why -- thank you Lou. -- a couple of parting shots before we wrap it up for the week. This is CBS Atlanta. Study. Lefties. Are more likely to suffer schizophrenic. Now I saw that headline and I thought what they're talking about liberals well it turns out they're not people left handed. And I did notice here's a story. People suffering from mental disorders such as schizophrenia. Appear to have a higher rate of left handedness. Then the general population according to a new study. About it -- here about 10% of people are elected I know I thought it would have been more than that. He's so left handers are a bit -- Only 10% that's correct. Our -- is more rare a redhead or lefthander. And what about redheaded lefthander. Blow points it at a the results of the study found that 40% of people suffering from psychotic disorders. And they said that they have an outlet and it stayed up because we love all glum -- and we would had an urgent clinic. How Obama managed only ten seconds. Yeah I don't I had to reach back. Because I found that that that and it gave up and that arm back and their back. And they couldn't they'd let and then. I got you have a good weekend folks Rush Limbaugh coming up next.
