Com this hour another great example. We made a decision when we started the -- castle shows the new format back in January of this year. 8 AM to noon and then is this as we possibly could we wanted to bring you news as it was happening. Live in other words and they give you a chance. You comment on it instantly and so this hour we're gonna do that again. Once again they wicket -- Jumbo wherever. I'm so sorry for the web site were working day and night we're gonna get this thing fixed. You know just me every delegate Kathleen civilians. Don't you just think she's just cold hearted to. Is there anything warm about this woman. -- detail. Always tell on TV. That's just the sense I get that I guess I'm jaded. You remember the other day I shared with you. That editorial that was written in the Wall Street Journal. From this woman. Who has stage four cancer. ED Sunday. In. She wrote that piece that'll just. Made. It your right the senator chest. About how she is losing her doctors. If she fights for life she's losing. The hospital where she's been being been treated. It all because of obamacare. The op Ed was titled you also can't keep your doctor and let me just share this with you again part of it. She wrote for almost seven years I have fought and survived stage for gallbladder cancer. When a five year survival rate of less than 2% after diagnosis. I am a determined fighter an extremely lucky that this look may have just run out my affordable. Lifesaving medical insurance policy has been canceled effective December 31. And you're right my choice is to get coverage of the government health exchange and lose access to my cancer doctors. Or pay more for insurance outside the exchange the quotes average forty to 50% more. For the privilege of starting over. With an unfamiliar insurance company and impaired benefits to things. Have been essential in my fight to survive stage four cancer. The first -- doctors and health teams in California and Texas. The second element essential to my fight is a United Healthcare PPO let's -- preferred provider organization. Health insurance policy. She said since March 2007. United Healthcare is paid one point two million dollars to keep me alive. And it has never once questioned any treatment or procedure. Recommended by by a medical team. But in January United Healthcare sent me a letter announcing they were pulling out of the individual California market. So. What's the reaction. Of the Obama administration. They're going after. I'm not kidding. They're going after. This woman. Who is fighting for her life. And you read about this. Conscious -- things to do it I think you're all very what's the worst cold. Cold -- doesn't seem to be enough. They really don't care. Bright board and others have this story White House blames stage four cancer victim. For insurance loss. And they talk about eighty son. Who could really -- Dan -- The White House spokesman. In response to her story. Fired off a dismissive tweaked. They've basically blamed this woman for picking the wrong insurance it's her fault. The story linked in the White House -- is a rapid response piece from the left wing think progress. Which is part of John Podesta Center for American Progress a group dedicated to spending the media. And according to the cold robot expand a think progress. Because obamacare had absolutely nothing to do with this. It is only a coincidence. That miss somebody lost to help plan that -- not only love but a plane which kept her life. -- -- -- Damn -- first tweet according to bright part. Is just a repackaging. Of the White House attacked on the millions of Americans who have already lost their insurance. Obama repeatedly promised they can keep it. But -- -- rights DC just like all of them -- Sunday isn't a victim of obamacare. She is really a victim of her own idiocy. For buying such a shady. Dubious. Joint plan in the first place. -- -- concludes this is the world in which we find ourselves. One where government to. Democrats. And their media allies steamrolled. Cancer -- patients. Victimized by obamacare. With Hartley spend lies and propaganda all in the hopes. -- being good enough to keep the media at bay. And the last point we are seeing the real face and the black heart. Of these -- and green liberals. Those who were willing to grind up a few million innocent people to serve their cold concept. Of a greater good. Are in Max Baucus the Senate Finance Committee chairman speaking right now let's go live. To be -- Had a chance to fix health care dot -- Keep that. Baucus is a guy going to train rated we've made a promise the American people. Commit a promise to fix a broken system. Made a promise to ensure that all Americans have access to quality affordable health care. We made a promise to ensure that no one ever went broke just because they got sick. You madam secretary must make good on that promise. Some people have called for your resignation. -- -- carry his words we cannot fix the blame for the past. He just stay at HHS can help get the marketplace is working. He said recently that you expect the website you're running smoothly for majority of users by late November. There's no room for error. You must meet and I'd prefer you beat that deadline. Why because he's marketplaces opened the door to all the care for boards of Americans who lack health insurance. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office estimated that seven million Americans will get insurance that marketplaces in 2014. And ten years and that number will grow to 24 north. There's no question. That can't happen unless the marketplace has run at full speed. But I believe you will fix the problems because you know are critical of the marketplaces are. For the first time ever they guarantee consumers who have access to high quality comprehensive insurance. Consumers will never be forced it to bargain basement plants refused to cover services like childbirth. Or cancer treatment. They'll never be denied coverage because of preexisting conditions they'll never be cut off because they hit an annual or lifetime limit. We already have concrete examples of how the marketplaces are helping real people. Just consider these three stories letters I've received since October -- What America should stop here. Is this the same Max Baucus. Putin sent obamacare is a train -- did you -- -- that he was saying there. Course he's looking GeMS like he's reading it from talking points this is this saying. Max Baucus. Who was one of the architects of obamacare. Who said it was a train wreck. And what you just -- folks this Democrat from Montana. Is sitting up there are now saying oh everything's hunky dory. Praising Kathleen Sebelius. And just saying I know you're gonna you're gonna get all this straightened out. And course they always going to be obligatory stories. That we don't know if they're real or not. Is that the -- point that's the first headline from these hearings. Max Baucus man who called Obama care train wreck says. That he thinks it's gonna work out just -- up up up anyway when we get too -- is -- Albright met Jake Jake Tapper. And uninteresting story he's on CNN now. -- obamacare war room documents. Listen to what he writes. Officials expressed concern that the next shoe to drop. In the evolving story about the Affordable Care Act. Would be disappointment from consumers once they were able to get on the troubled health care dot gov website disappointment because of sticker shock. And limited choice according to new documents obtained by CNN. -- quote here. I'm Mike described a general concern of the plan management team getting to the point where the website is functioning properly. And the individuals begin to select plants the media attention -- follow individuals to plan selection and their ultimate choices and in some cases. There will be fewer options then would be desire to promote consumer choice and an ideal shopping experience additionally. In some cases there will be relatively high cost plants. Now that's a quote from the notes from the Obama administration's. Obamacare war room one week ago. Now I'm -- management team is a reference to those individuals in the Obama administration. Whose job it is to. You know praised the president's health care law. This discussion appeared to. The in reference to an October 24 story by the New York Times titled health care law fails to lower prices for rural areas. They've got other notes from this more room meeting. That describes specific quote problem appliance in a problem with the site that prevents certification. Quote these are notes taken by contractors they are not official agency positions. DH HS spokesman -- and Peter said in an emailed to CNN. But there is concerned. That consumers are all of a sudden -- discover after they get on the web site. That there -- fewer options and higher. Prices. Do. We've been telling you about this for a long long time. You know what's coming folks. I mean you do know what's coming. -- we -- as we'll talk about it now. The Obama care -- There is no way. This thing is gonna work. Let me. From just buy it in the meantime by the way if -- board with -- obamacare and you wanna talk about something else. That is perfectly all right Ingles advantage talk like numbers -- 232. 9673. Spartanburg 5749673. There's no who -- changing the subject on this program. Whatever you wanna talk about his fine W or detects -- number 71307. Are -- Orrin Hatch's speech and. This cavalier attitude toward a senate committee with oversight jurisdiction over your agency is to put it simply. Appalling and needs to be rectified. If the past month has been any indication. They're likely to be numerous additional problems ahead. That being the case I think it's only proper that you provide this committee with more regular updates on the issues with which you're dealing. In fact I would ask that you come here once a month for the next six months. To provide this committee with status updates on the implementation of obamacare. But I hope you'll agree to do so. Like I said madame secretary it's clear that the problems you've encountered thus far we're not done for saint. 2 separate reports one from the Government Accountability Office in June and another from the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General in August. Identified significant implementation challenges. Months ahead of the October 1. Deadline. Yet there's no indication that the warnings from these two independent nonpartisan government watchdogs. Where he -- by the administration or that any thought was given to delaying the start -- date as a result. When you were here in April 1. -- raise concerns about whether adequate testing. I was -- tuition to ensure that privacy controls. Were in place for the exchanges. In fact I specifically ask you about having an independent entity review. The entire system fit for a mobilized. To ensure that all appropriate privacy and security controls were in place. You assured it at all testing protocols for being followed and the privacy issues where a high priority. However we now know that no end to end testing of the system occurred. Before the system what -- Not. In fact she's CMS officials knew on September 27. That there was a high security risk to the system if it went up as plant. My colleagues and I have said several letters since the spring asking for for more information. What privacy controls surveying instituted as part of the exchange infrastructure. And asking for details about whether or not testing was being done to address the privacy and security concerns we have braves. Today we have not received any answers. To those questions. So not only can millions of Americans not login to the web site successfully. But those who have actually succeeded could now find themselves at the mercy of identity thieves. Across the globe. I call this a less than ideal situation for all of our conception stich moves. That brings us another set of issues that are hope you'll be able. Our -- Orrin hatch Republican Utah ranking member of the Senate Finance Committee so we haven't heard Kathleen civilians just sit and they're taken notes. With. One of those cold state errors. Guys you know you know when you. When no woman and you're like give you one of those cold stares. You pretty much know what. What's going on their -- that's what Kathleen Sebelius is doing right now when she starts speaking we'll we'll jump back into this in the meantime. Folks. I know we talked a lot about Obama care but I found. Just a really interesting. Question. In a -- in American spectator. Written by Peter for -- And it's entitlement coming obamacare -- Taxpayers will have a choice. Settle for single Payer. Or bailout. The private insurance companies which otherwise. Cannot and will not survive the ravages of obamacare. All right that's your choice. Which do you choose. A single Payer system which Obama has said he preferred -- Or bailing out private insurance companies. And the Obama administration has -- this all along this is this in gained part. Of everything that's happened with obamacare but -- rights. Think back to the fall of 2008. Remember them folks five years ago right now. Congress was asked to pass -- 700. Billion dollar taxpayer bailout for Wall Street. We were told it had to be passed. Or else the economy would collapse. Perhaps into another Great Depression. House conservatives voted it down the stock market to hundreds of points. In the ensuing panic congressman long and passed. That bailout and the insane nearly one trillion dollar stimulus bill passed just a few months later. There's Obama's first official act gave birth to the Tea Party revolution. They gave Republicans a 63 seat landslide. In the house in the 2010 elections. Voters supported debt to stop the run on taxpayer funds will next Izzo and obamacare death spiral. For the private health insurance industry. Taxpayers will now be told a new bailout. -- hundreds of billions of dollars from the private health insurers must be passed. -- -- Private health insurance will go out of business under obamacare that would lead to government in complete control. Of American healthcare especially. As he who pays the piper calls the -- It is called single -- by advocates of government run health care in plain English. Single -- means government monopoly over health care more commonly known as socialized medicine. That means the government decides who gets what health care or ultimately. Who lives and who dies. And mr. Ferrara says for those who think the government is god does such health care socialism as long overdue meeting. Spiraling decline in the quality of American health -- the end of investment in new breakthrough medicine. And Sarah Palin's death camps. President Obama sold the idea of obamacare to its most. Incredulous supporters on the promise. That it would mean universal health insurance would know uninsured. This is one of fueled about it to the left. And -- the simple minded true believers in Obama but even the Washington establishment. Congressional Budget Office scored obamacare is still leaving thirty million uninsured. Ten years after implementation. But the reality is even worse than that. Because the effect of obamacare so for has been to increase the number of uninsured rather than reduce it. And we know it's all based on -- So here's the choice. I think I know the answer 'cause I know this audience we're going back to oh wait. I mean did it. Is there any doubt it cost Gresham Barrett. His job. Cost him any chance of ever being governor of distinct. Member bailout bear. The Tea Party. Meeting. 101000 people. At two what was then known as the by -- -- I remember. So here we are again I think I find this fascinating so people keep asking me so Ross where does all this lead. Mr. -- I think lays it out. It's coming to the -- -- you're gonna have a choice. You can give Obama. And the liberals what they want total government control single Payer socialized medicine. Or another -- bailing out the private insurance companies which otherwise will not survive. Obamacare. That's world this is leading your comments welcome. 1026 now. This is their Russ -- show. Howard and charge my battery specialists. Carried 1035 covering it live for you Kathleen civilians this time. Before the Senate's finance committee in Washington. Being questioned by the chairman Democrat senator Max Baucus who called obamacare -- train wreck. He's just ask her why not just take this health care dot gov web site down. Just taken down infection. And wanna do that they just point out the advisor Jeff sites says he's got a punch list. They just -- wolf how many items are wrong that punch lists and how many of those things have you solved here's Kathleen Sebelius trying to answer. We're making and it it depends on the night it's it's hard to give you a moment by moment snapshot there were. A number that. We're down last night hard where additional ones installations were done over the weekend. At. 5 o'clock or 6 o'clock each day it's really identified whether or not that testing for the individuals. Coating fix can be actually applied that night so the list changes but we will get you mr. chairman I. And update and I would say we are into the list we're not where we need to be. It's a pretty aggressive schedule. To get to. Then the entire punch list. I didn't have been a very good dude and then have to go through all -- a couple hundred act items on the points list because the site is running. It is and and daily people are coming into the system and going all the way through the system every day and that helps identify some of what work. Seeing so we are actually doing. With lifetime. And end testing that then can go back and inform the tech team. What else needs to happen. Farewell as big of -- all I want this to work but why do they really can't help you make it work. It just means you also have to -- two way street you tell us what's going on candidly pulling a little late but so we don't wake up. In November. Mobile hold still not there yet. That's. Thank you chairman the secretary Sebelius and you know. For months I've expressed concerns about the privacy and security controls -- implement those part of this federally for some weapons facilitator marketplace. We know now that key officials in the administration. I don't know if there were privacy and security risks as well as serious operational issues. That might occur if the exchanges went lives. On October 1. Get a decision was still may not to delay the launch until those issues were fully address. Many people including myself have called for an independent candidate. Such as the government accounting office. For example to conduct an and then review of the marketplace to ensure adequate privacy and security controls. We're in place before -- life. So I have a number of questions about why you made the decision to go forward even when you know. There were serious security risks and operational issues that would likely occur. Number run. When did you find out about the potential security risk to users of the website. Sir. I would say that the August preliminary report from an independent drug dealer. -- Identified that their word I. And risk GAO had identified. That their risk their wrists with every system that that goes live and we took those -- very seriously. And so by August you know. We'll brief you on a potential security risks of the launch went forward as planned. Again senator -- anybody breakthrough on the security of the rest. We discuss security as part of the overall operations on a regular basis with the operations team but no one. I would say suggested that. The risks outweighed dead and the importance of moving forward including our independent evaluate -- -- who made. Recommendations to see MS as is required. Well I've been suggesting that since April. You stated that he felt strongly that the launch needed to proceed on October 1 for the millions of Americans. Who do not have health insurance so they can get coverage as soon as possible. However how did you balance that made with the risk of those same Americans might then fall victim to identity theft. Or have their personal information compromised by insufficient privacy and security controls. The hydrogen. It's how did you balance. Well I share a year. Concerns about individual privacy and I would say though that this site was. Developed so with the highest standards in mind is this month. Certified. Which is the federal standard it means -- -- standards. And we took very seriously. The information in the hub was specifically designed so that the federal government wasn't storing privacy information and actually accessed. Some other secure government web sites but we tried to store the minimum possible information. We don't collect any personal health information which is typically done by Richard describes a company -- they know that we don't have that at all. You do is collect Social Security numbers shoot you and we don't Sarah wade collected operational and let them -- The hub is -- a router function. Then actually identifies as a as a security number verifies that with the Social Security Administration but that information is not. Captain stored but don't they have to give their room. -- income further and that -- verified data IRS it's there Homeland Security verify the thoughts on the hub of -- Let's go out there they just had an outage and hanging. The Homeland Security databases hanging IRS data base and it's pinging Social Security database it is not. Storing unique information. -- -- here's why don't believe her. We just had the story and it affects all of us right here in South Carolina there's a lawyer. Down in the lower part of the state. Who made big news this week because all of a sudden he gets a call from a guy in North Carolina. And the guy in North Carolina said hey I was on the health care dot gov. And I signed up and then all of a sudden. I got letters in the mail with you more information. In this gods after -- going what. How did how did you get at my impression. McCain. Is both these guys were on healthcare dot gov. -- happen to a guy and that is to be a lord your. Right here in South Carolina so there's talk about -- it meets the highest standards it secure blah blah blah blah blah. I I I just don't believe a word she says. Why would anybody. Get a couple of calls and here we'll get back to the hearing. Tony I. The new roads are you I'm punter. -- good -- just a joke I look robotic. A couple multiple civil rights. -- position decked out when it's a date was -- -- talking about eighty video on YouTube. And it it just resemble the -- color joke. Cheer you. Up to go back to a question. We cannot afford to give a bailout to be sure -- -- -- can we not allowed the government to -- board data entry cope with the help purity and wonder if should. I don't know what we can do hopefully -- -- it would -- texting. That's not what we can turn the tables on the whole minute it would show. Oh well -- the situation that's going on globally if we allow the government to take over helped here. What are essentially. Had been in Ukraine. How people back into actual people out they can't get doctor. Well in the if you want a prime example of it -- yet to -- it just. -- Internet and it didn't look at how will European below what they've helped position and get what we want here. That's what Obama wants he wants us to be more more like Europe won't let you see the plane and now should be easy for everybody to understand everything to Kathleen Sebelius is saying. All these questions by these senators and congressman. All about this website doesn't make sense we have plenty of time we -- warnings why did you go live why wasn't it right the first time. Because the grand scheme is to get to the points. Where people have to choose. Either let the government have it in a single Payer system. Or we got to do a big bailout for those evil quote quote bad apple insurance companies. And the American people I'm telling your right here right now I I I know how they would wage this campaign because Obama and his minions. They're anti anything remotely successful like big business. And what don't do that -- the campaign. You can trust the government a whole lot more than you can ever trust the insurance companies let us handle it for you that's it that's what is gonna come down to. What rush the president approved -- -- app state 39%. But if you if you get the holder to say and you start -- situation that they had in Europe. Just -- approval rate will be in the low twenty. While a lot of -- Why part why does he care about his approval rating. I mean that nobody's gonna impeach him. He can sail right now the Democrats or get a worried about next November but really Obama this is this is bolstering their free yeah. A battle -- is -- Parker. People polish trust and confidence in the -- people all over -- should the government be doing -- think you'll have ride through the streets. Not only that our. Every president in the administration has let it people train there you know we told you. That we're going to take care if you put -- would have we'll spend it and Richard are up but can't speak for less socially. It already has Tony and already has thanks for the call buddy appreciate it our quick break back with more right after this 1045. -- -- 1049 quickly to -- on a cellphone Ian thanks for waiting for sure no problem. You wanna say. Yeah. The way I see ads says there's only one option and you guys are everybody seems to be forgetting about this. And I'm taking this option I would never sign up for obamacare. I have lost my insurance because it was so -- it's just crazy not Sharon. That I can negotiate with the doctors hospitals. And district court. And Nikki Haley if you will leave us alone. And let us keep our money. And all you other government officials. We will be able to take care of ourselves. And that is what I will do and that's what I want to do. So you're not gonna comply you'll defied them. So what are what are you gonna do in the IRS comes after. Well. What -- what does a person do what does a group of people do win -- everything they've ever worked forest taken from their. -- -- -- Well what's country commentator. A big fight. I've sort of looks like -- Civil unrest. Sorry civil unrest. What looks like today but Tony there are comments Tony Tony. -- does not have to be fighting in the streets to mark sir selves. We just need to go bar airliners can't forget about this law -- duke -- a treat you this way. -- they make a law that says it's that week. That anybody who do not have born here and -- why it's important we jailed or killed. What do you do. Well a lot of people went to ovens. You get my point. Yeah. It's so what you've got to comply no you don't have to comply. Below will die if people were not completely. If I pose this question the of the day -- If millions of Americans simply defied this instead. They're from their model became we will not comply what would they do. -- Millions of people if it's an -- theory how many people are courageous enough. To do that. That's still a million dollar. It really is. It really -- Thank you proposing -- -- and I appreciate that are into Kathleen Sebelius. This is lives Senate Finance Committee. Being questioned by senator Debbie Stabenow. -- -- she admitted that before the Affordable Care Act she was one of the people who was using the emergency room and adding to the cost. And everybody else and everybody else is insurance. When she got sick last month she went to health -- -- doubt. Was able to secure health insurance quickly and uninterrupted. And actually got a plan for a 163. Dollars a month. And she said to me it's that payment I can live where. And I can't tell you how happy I am to finally have health insurance especially at my age. Man secretary we've heard concerns about small businesses for years been a struggle to afford insurance. I certainly at every meeting for years and years that's the only thing anybody want to talk about. How can you discuss how pulling together. Small business owners like crystal on the marketplace. Is gonna continue to help them afford insurance. We'll senator's small business owners under the mom. -- employers were less than fifty full time employees have no obligation to provide coverage but many of them want to that's the way they keep and recruit and retain their best. Employees. They've often been. In a market where they pay higher rates and they have exorbitant costs of one of their employees get sick or has. Maybe diagnosis so having an option. And small business owners can -- in or outside the marketplace but there will be new options for small business owners in the market. With plans specifically for them and for the employers with fewer than 25 employees and low income. The workers they may actually qualify for a new tax credit to provide that coverage up to 50%. A -- we have to take a break here -- -- she's from a small business now. -- talk about lot of small businesses every day on these radio stations. If you're small business owner do you believe that Kathleen civilians and Barack Obama. Really wanna help pew. With health insurance for your employees does anybody who really believe that I don't. I'm small business -- Right 1054.
