This is their Russ castle show Howard and charge my batteries specialist happy Thanksgiving to you and yours folks tomorrow. -- -- -- YUK and as somebody sent -- -- text I think it was yesterday Ross do you think this will be the last Thanksgiving and Christmas. That we'll ever have and boy. You know as I get older the more stuff I -- I would say. There's a distinct possibility of that yes but I guess I'd try to live every day as if it were my last. Just found a way to look at things. And I think if you look at it that way you'll actually be happier. If that makes any sense. But I hope you have if you're traveling be safe. No good blisters are hard to find wouldn't want anything to happen to you or your family. And take a moment to be thankful as a matter of fact. We do this every year but I -- Throw this out there. What are you most thankful for. A lot of people would look at the news and all the things that we talk about -- and a daily basis. And you can fold. I guess to that tramp. Sleeping they're just isn't much left. To be thankful for twelve. Boy that is so wrong. There is more to be thankful for them. I can ever describe. Our family we've had a difficult year we are more thankful. I think this year than we've ever been. We have chosen to focus on things. That we considered to be blessings. Rather than the things. That we considered to be dire or or troubling. I'm so thankful that have gotten to the stage of my life. Where I actually can do that I could always do that. They're human beings. Are flawed I'm flawed. And we tend to focus on all the things that could happen that are happening. That will change you know what we consider to be. Our lives. But the fact of the matter alarms are always change. Sometimes it's in direct overt ways other times it's in subtle ways. But. If you just. Can get to that place. Where you think my goodness. Despite everything that I am facing. I have so much. To be thankful for and we do and are -- I'm just so thankful. That from all indications my wife is going to be okay. Now we have a big pet -- coming up in January that's going to be kind of scary. But as I've told Europe. You know once you have cancer it's always in the back your mind is gonna come back you gotta fight that. -- We're so thankful. I -- story doesn't always turn out that way maybe -- facing that in your family. We faced that and hours to. But then you. Somehow someway get to the point being thankful. That may be had that special person for as long as you did. So thankful for my children. My grandchildren. Who are just amazing. I'm so thankful to still be able to do this every day lot of days of stuff folks. You know just because it sounds a certain way -- that speaker that -- listening to right now doesn't mean that's the way it actually is I have very very difficult days. I tried -- show. It I don't want to burden anybody was by issues but don't. Through all of that and I'm just thankful that I can still do would still wanna do it too. Still I'm allowed to do it. Much to be thankful for. Focused on the blessings -- the problems. What are you most thankful for. Like sure something about that or anything else in the news feel free. I'm thankful that we still have the Eagles advantage talk like that. -- 2329673. Spartanburg. 5749673. You can share our thoughts via the W award detects line number that number 71307. I'm so thankful. That we still have people in the country. Who realize what we're up against. Many people don't even think about what we're up against. -- brought this up in the last -- too big story today. Here comes the Irish again. Foxnews.com. The Obama administration. Yesterday. Launched an attempt to rein him what they called. Politically active nonprofit. Groups. Now. If that sounds familiar. This is these are the types of groups the IRS. Was accused of targeting last summer. And there's no -- it did that they're that targeting and they direct affect. On last year's presidential election. More rules more regulations. From Obama. Obviously. To shut down. To intimidate. Anybody that he disagrees with anybody that he considers to be a threat. This is how old Obama rolls. This -- they say this is well applied these new rules to organizations that fall. And -- -- tax exempt 501 C four umbrella. The new guidance would curtail activities such is running ads. Distributed campaign literature. And other get out the vote initiatives the groups in question. Course raised millions of dollars. To. Encourage people. To vote one way or the other. And which -- people. You know some of these organizations. Mainly conservative organizations. Clearly you were targeted. By the IRS. It led to the eventual resignation. Of some senior Irish officials like blow whistle or. Quite frankly should be in jail. Now the only good part about this it could take several years. Before any of these things are finalized. So it may or may not have a direct effect on the elections next November. House ways and means committee chair Dave Camp the Republican Michigan. Says he's skeptical. Who isn't of this administration. He said there continues to be an ongoing investigation but many documents yet to be uncovered. In how the IRS systematically targeted an abused conservative leaning groups. This smacks of the administration trying to shut down. Potential critics. Obvious. The American Center for Law and Justice the AC LJ. Representing 41. Different organizations in a federal lawsuit. Challenging the iris. They say these new. Proposed rules and regulations this change puts free speech rights at risk. Here's part of what they said -- sec hello. This is a feeble attempt by the Obama administration. To justify its own wrongdoing. With the -- targeting of conservative and Tea Party groups. Instead of holding those responsible. For the unlawful targeting scheme. Hold them accountable for their actions. The Obama administration is determined to further limit. The free speech of Americans by attempting to change constitutional. Practices. That are decades old. You know we go back to be 2010 Citizens United Supreme Court decision. That lifted the limits on donations. By 501 C four groups you know companies labor unions. Allowing the largest of them to raise substantial sums outside the limits that apply to candidates campaigns. Current rules. Are confusing. Prone to abuse critics say. But I think it's crystal clear. Because you would dissuade folks. But these new rules and regulations. Do you honestly think that anybody that is anywhere near pro Obama. What ever be called in. Beverage and -- for second. -- You honestly think. This is the way the Chicago way works. These new rules and -- first of all we know. It was primarily conservative and Tea Party groups that were targeted last time around so you come up with some new rules and regs is still -- tried to solve the problem which Obama pledged to do. And now you got more rules and -- going forward. Using the IRS. Is your own private little and enforcement Gestapo. And you you you go after even more do you honestly believe. That Obama. Or Eric Holder. Or anybody at the iris. He's really gonna go after a liberal group. Do you realize the danger of this and it's a First Amendment thing. The way I see it. And then speaking to first miniature got this hobby lobby case going before the Supreme Court. This part of obamacare. Which directly. Goes after. Religious freedom. And the free expression their all of its full court press time. For Obama's agenda. I gotta tell you. We we've we've faced so much uncertainty. Rolling and a 2014. So Obama's response to Irish abuse and that scandal. Is. More power to abuse. A and where disappeared and where does it end. And then you know you've got obamacare with all -- its other problems. You know we found -- yesterday eighty million people with these employer health plans eighty million. Confine their coverage canceled because they don't comply with a obamacare. That was out yes there was a big fox story. Talking about the uncertainty in 2014 he he -- something to think about. Until we have disputes -- right where you live. Are you thinking about next year. They what are you worried about most. It goes way beyond whether or not you're gonna have health insurance. Washington Post. More than six in ten workers. Worried that they are gonna lose their jobs. What a minute 60%. In a recent Washington Post poll admitted right up front. This their word they don't lose their jobs. What makes this big news. This surpasses. Concerns in more than a dozen surveys -- go all the way back to the 1970s. More than six in ten. Do you plan for effect. Nearly one in 332%. Since they actually worry a lot about losing their jobs which is also a record hot. The survey was done between the Washington Post in a group called the Miller Center. Which is a nonpartisan affiliate University of Virginia they specialize in public policy presidential scholarship and political history. -- in Washington Post job insecurities. Have always been always been higher. Among low income Americans but they typically Rosenfeld across all levels of the income letter today. Workers at the bottom. Had drifted away. They -- occupying their own island of insecurity. 54% of workers making 35000. Dollars or less. Now worry a lot. About losing their jobs. -- put that in perspective. In 199237%. Were worried. It was identical in 197537%. I mean. Lower paid workers they write also worry for more about making is make. 85%. Of them. -- their family income is going to be enough to meet expenses that's up 25 points from 1971. Same question. 32% said they were all the time. About meeting expenses. That's a number that's tripled. Since 1970s. Post it -- any of this at home with the Dick do you actually worry all the time could you honestly say that all the time. About meeting expenses. I'm just curious how many people in this audience is that really hit home. Washington Post America's economic perceptions often divided along political lines. Supporters of the incumbent president are usually more optimistic about the job market. And the help that the economy but that's not the case now. Not the case anymore. There's no racial divide in this there's a gender gap. And it doesn't matter where you live this is everybody. In this latest poll. Written Rand wrote about his. An American thinker yesterday. Compared it to Jimmy Carter. It's actually word here I remember living through that. What -- mortgage rates 15161718%. Back to end the Malays the Jimmy Carter talked about. Well this new survey confirms that it's worse than Jimmy Carter. It's not anecdotal anymore. American workers those who still have a job or feel for fearful of losing their job. And wondering what what we're British -- go from here. -- and writes finally Obama has united America behind something. Too -- it's the notion that he's doing an incompetent job as a Steward of the American. Economy. While just record numbers. So I'm just curious. I know -- sort of begin this -- focus. On your blessings as opposed to the worries. And that is sometimes it's difficult to do that I admit that is difficult in my own life. Budget -- it is you can't ignore the reality of it either I mean you got eighty million people they can lose their insurance you've got American workers. More anxious perhaps than ever about keeping their job. I mean 32% said they worry all the time just about. Being able to meet their expenses and pay their bills. India and Obama. Full speed ahead. Use the IRS. Go after companies like hobby lobby go after anybody that dares to disagree. With the liberal socialist progressive agenda that's where we are folks. Randi is in Woodruff hi Randy. Hey rest is -- -- all escalating on -- RJ were still need to when we get all our lady -- and condition backbone. Are the ones in Colombia and the ones in Washington. And touched. When we start stand up that we are going to take anymore. And we have read it. And how close do you think we are did that. There so much. -- 'cause I thought about a year ago I thought about a year ago we were very close I was wrong. -- Update you -- about 1% close -- minute account we ain't got no idea it would get and now. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Chanted thank although older I should -- that public. People Americans don't have a backbone and remote. I'll debate Ernie and now or let this. Trials and yelled back. Just dictate if I'd just like a dictator. Is already a dictator. Well I hear the frustration in your voice but you know I look up at this computer. And -- yours is the only call that I hear this passion from. Saw well I'm not I'm OK I am fed up -- I -- -- I didn't know I hear it. These are people we run these checked on the part where -- sticker on the car we don't put up at any vote tackle -- wind woke. An outlandish top. It's gonna take some batting. -- action. A -- this country is more hungry for real leadership now than perhaps we've ever been. And that's a big statement but I I gotta tell you I since it every day. The right now such a great opportunity for a true leader to emerge. That people good rally around that would get back to the traditions get back to the constitution of this country. Get back to the things that we've made it great I don't know a person that wouldn't trade. You know six years ago. A bit of what we have for what we have now they were treated in a skinny minute anyone perfect back then. But. Stroke which you don't have to dig them would just start don't turn to -- children. And get -- out from under it. Yeah a lot of people's seemed to have condoms. Hunkered down so to speak Italian and just when -- totally blow back to come. You know well would that -- so I'm not been real will be okay we won't be okay. No it's right here in front of us. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Is Tom matte finish to -- -- -- -- and don't chill imaginary. Muslim cannot but there ought to -- Islam bill or whatever it probably did. The problem Alexander alternates and read about when he came near the United States after being in the Serbia do blogs and being expelled from the Soviet Union. They are the United States indeed -- -- bank that's what we get to -- the one thing that he warned the United States repeatedly deal. Where's this worship of the process so walk on the porch over. Basically and over the natural -- Where I have accord has spoken or somebody's put something in the law or somebody stiff that a corporation or what ever been hit too many Americans that's. I don't -- there aren't right I don't think it's about legalism. I if I think it's about freedom I think it's about liberty I was reading a constitutional scholar his name is course Cooper on this very thing. And -- and one of the things he said. Was -- in he has written a paper on the on constitutionality. Of the contraception mandate. In obamacare. And he -- he stated it simply. He said the fact that the Obama administration believes. It has the legal right to do this. Repeals a remarkable just paying for constitutional liberty and the law and and it doesn't stop. When you're. -- corporation or not. What what it believed to inevitably. Is. It it would apply to every it'll plug every church. -- apply to every charity it'll applied to any and all of us because the big picture of Craig as you can see. It's an assault on the constitution. It spitting on the constitution's trampling yet to -- the Supreme Court he wrote about this. In 1943. The Supreme Court said. Undeniable. That no official. Well let me quote them if there is any fixed star in our constitutional constellation. It is that no official high or petty can describe what shall be orthodox in politics. Nationalism. Religion or other matters of opinion or force citizens to confess by word or act. Their faith. There isn't. -- just bring courts that. I don't know how to -- Gore's gonna do -- state and he does Sprague but I I just don't understand how hobby lobby in the so the company can lose. Well and -- it's important -- you know we need to. The fight that battle but I guess what I'm trying to get their ideas than it did the the bill -- is unique in the constitution aside from the rest a bit. Because unlike the rest of it it is not hey did that -- government or how to proceed to do you think it is a statement of what years. It dates back to be it dates -- the back of the magna -- expecting god but right union and ability derided they don't. Our Elmhurst really derive a lot of -- from the banking and John walked in from the English revolution from the bill of rights then hit. Which was very similar to the table out totally correct because they don't have a written constitution. It was a statement of what is devastating so are not up for debate they're not they're to -- -- suppose you could try to Mendel. But if you do and if they try to take that away and we are at war if we failed to recognize that. So what we're doing now which were trying to find a bloodless war in these people keep backing out single corner. And they are going to force our hand to where we have to restore the natural all over their main and made machinations. We have got to say. You know we're gonna do what we wanted to win and we won't violence there were proper balance to no -- but you can't try to stop this at all. Well if you don't get pride over the founding principles of the country over our. You know wonderful. You know god granted rights and liberties. That are reaffirmed in the bill of rights than what will you fight over. I mean that's the bigger question and thank you Craig and and happy Thanksgiving to you and yours but he -- -- horse Cooper constitutional scholar wrote this. Nevermind that Protestants Catholics Jews and Muslims might find various forms of contraception and abortion inducing drugs immoral. Are contrary to deeply held religious police. The federal government. In effect has said that it will provide exemptions from this mandate. In perhaps the -- way possible -- will only give religious institutions. An exemption. If -- primary purpose is to inculcate. Religious values and not think merely as a social service or community outreach program. And Cooper says that tried Washington agencies. And this is what I've -- to say to Jean. Will soon begin telling churches and synagogues and other houses of worship. Which of their ministries to the poor the sick the young and the imprisons our quote quote religious enough. To get an obamacare waiver. And this is despite the fact. He says that the government was never intended to be in the business. Of validating the gospel. Are the actions of the faithful. -- he wrote this assault on religious liberty is shockingly out of touch. With the values that Americans place. On their religious freedom the founding principles of the First Amendment. And a litany of legal precedent that was has been reaffirmed. By the Supreme Court. Now again. They becomes instead memory of maybe your reasoning doesn't matter anymore maybe we gotten to that point I mean we we are still many shocked and dumbfounded. Did John Roberts found the way that he did. Overall on on the constitutionality. Of obamacare. I mean this this is this is kicking up another level. This is not just about a -- Richard this is about whether or not. We the people. Have religious freedom have the right to freely express that we have not only have the right to believe that. We have the right to not believe in the -- This is an assault on everybody. Doesn't matter where you're incorporated or not. I mean that's that's when I got out of Reading constitutional scholar Horace Cooper. Who -- the birth control mandate is unconstitutional. Seems like pretty Smart -- to me. Lot smarter than I am. -- Rebecca in -- your next tie. Hey rod just real quick have great whites to make sure first of all you said nobody's calling it with as much -- as she does so whatever personal let me just say that. I have a business Ryan and a different on every single day. Everybody. Is they're mad as hell yeah stage by just even say the word Obama. I've got people almost pulled -- -- and don't mention it really can't. -- You know where -- ago did you midsummer and there. Maybe maybe -- call right back up maybe she had her phone died. I don't think I hit -- thing. Rebecca please please call back I don't know what happened there anyway. But you bold -- 1145 let's take a quick break back with more of your phone calls right after this. Something. I just got a text. Brochures or less trouble Rebecca the victim among drone strike -- I hope not. Oh I hope I hope Rebecca calls back the lines are -- now so let's let's let's see if we can. Talking these folks who may -- Rebecca can get back for I wanna hear the rest of restoring. -- caller Craig is absolutely right here more people than anyone think they're ready for the fight. Thanks for what you do. Russians wanted you to know my wife works for -- major university in the upstate she tells me that many of the professors. And teaching assistants and students. And just about had enough so there is still hope. That one comes from break let -- -- to -- -- and go hi Donna. Eyes that speed banks in the future. Did read and I can't I just. All of this -- garner atrocities and and -- that we win against. The few minutes -- we celebrate that right isn't that sad. We should lead this country was founded on -- the religious freedom. And we can't. I'm sorry. And that we're celebrating that different wind -- think that's what this country supposed to be about. That's how far down this road we have warrant. Well because there I guess your point is there's really shouldn't even be a fight about us. -- my point is we've gone down that -- itself applied that we think would you be normal. Is unusual is an exceptional yeah I guess I get what you have -- everything seems to be a first round everything's just seems to be. Just topsy turvy. You know of the things that we've grown up -- is that we come to believe that our own lives everything's thunderous. All -- I know I'm thankful I tell my kids. You don't know what freedom and I'm thankful I grew up in the country where there was -- because there isn't any more my daughters in the army. And even she would tell you where -- contrary. I don't know why we're fighting we're not a free country. I'm hearing more and more people. Who either are in the military or have been in the military and -- Yeah we've -- all these generals who have been fired -- by Obama. And their begin yet they're beginning to speak out the folks in the military I I -- you and you know this with your own family don't then they go ho. Are they they are seeing -- and they're very very concerned and I talked to a lot of them who are ready and anxious and willing to do something about it. And that's that's scary for a lot of people. -- There's there's there's a story out today. Just up if I wasn't gonna mention it but I will since you brought -- -- done by the what happy Thanksgiving to. Fox has -- -- I guess there's two ways to look at just the headline tells at all Defense Department gives local police equipment designed for a war zone. The Defense Department recently announced it will be giving domestic law enforcement forces. Hoping devices in vehicles. Designed to efficiently maneuver in a war zone for use in thwarting any. Potential. High scale. Activity. From war zones to city streets. Some military vehicles are getting new life. Not everyone is happy about the recycling. Doesn't sit well. Story says here with those who see a troubling trend. They middle -- rescission of local police departments including. The American Civil Liberties Union which is criticizing the defense department for giving eighteen -- 500000. Dollar armor protected. Military fighting vehicles. Two local police departments. It's the Defense Department military surplus program. AP found a disproportionate share. Of the four point two million dollars worth of property distributed since 1990. Everything from blankets to -- and humvees. Have been obtained by police and sheriff's departments in rural areas with few officers. And little crime. -- Josh is in Shelby hi Josh. I yeah cause is gone and it can't talk about. -- -- line or you're talking about morality out. A lot of people had just accounts so much under the control of the pendency of the government they're having that feel like they're really I was going on. So there's that little book out that's called a government of war but Donnie why had a thorough that I. And it's like it tells all about what the government do it. Like you know prepare for war. But it you know like in the revolution it was. A lot of people were. You know like loyal to McCain and then there was a minority of people would actually resisted. So many of the people it is dependent on the government is like. The few verses -- was going on where -- when they're actually going to be you know fight -- far right and like Benjamin Franklin he said. They who gave up no. I forget they don't give up necessary. Liberty for. Second the security however temporary security deserve neither does your -- and it is -- our secure -- well right. Yeah I remember years ago I interviewed John why did from the Rutherford Institute if I remember right -- a brilliant man. Days that he's got a lot of good things to say about how you know assist the government it's already preparing for. Domestic violence themselves as resistance. I'm all right for members of the military that know they they already know what's going on their very important at all. Right. Well Josh happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. Few text messages here -- I don't have time to read a mall. Ross be thankful we are still in a relatively. Free country this year not so sure about next year.
