And you've got Vince Coakley in thrust castle on this day after Christmas hope you have an enjoyable Christmas holiday ends get to enjoy that. Family and friends. Some Christmas cards -- we're gonna move on to some the other -- subjects of the day you George says the Eagles advantage talk line. In green votes to 329673. Spartanburg fives and 497 record pipes and forward. Also we have. The majority takes five to 713071. People have been burning out this morning were glad to share your comments here as well. What do things that I startups. Lucky about the first hour. Dealt with the concerned about what's going on with surveillance. And and really -- the concern overall what's happening to government they can be. Power of government. Tell you about something in for starters it's been going on with me for the last but say two and a half years since I've been doing talk radio. I've experienced a neat transformation of sorts because I gave. I don't think -- I -- I don't think I've ever been any rob rob Republican type person. But increasingly. I -- I have built this whole exercise is doing talk radio. Has told me to kind of find my own voice. Import that is to develop a language that I'm comfortable with -- And what do things I'm reading right now in fact if you have not read the book the 5000 year leap you need to read it. It is a great book in the middle but right now. And DB seventy examples of some of the things I'm ditching for my language. I don't very often talk about Republican or Democrat was that in a -- -- -- here with some people a few weeks ago. -- kind of a political -- reached type events and these were some people I met there -- event I was a part of in Charlotte. And I met some people with a church. And stay incredibly common find out about the vision for their church and some outreach they're involved in another country. And had a great time and they asked me some questions we had a good discussion about some political things -- was intriguing week we met at a restaurant. And there's very informal. And I think the height of the issue say compliment for me. Was more Mormon who looked at me and she said you know what I appreciate about you but wait let me add something to this story. This is the predominately black church. And it's what I communicated they -- Logged every bit of I -- one way. Say toward the end of this she -- I appreciate about you I have not heard the word Republican out of your mouth now wants. Not once. I like the fact that -- talking about values. You're talking about principles. And you're not promoting a party. And that's to me is probably one of the highest compliments I received. That night by the way there's another interesting story that happened -- during my time -- I was on a radio station though remain nameless in Charlotte. IE. Of course had a number of people who were big time defenders of this president. And a whenever it went to that particular meeting. In fact -- another reminder I need to run park with this lady some time. This guy came and they're big smile on his face it's like what is what's when smiling about it -- My wife. Can't wait to see you sushi and apologize. To apologize for one. Wish you have to apologize for what she's bought a few. And OK. So leave Iran after this meeting she actually did just that. And she should do what I did. I didn't just take your word for it in fact I. Didn't like which it said. But I did go look it up and found everything you were talking about was true. And she it was really cool because she said there the entire meeting smiling. Enjoying the things that I -- sharing. And the reason is it's not because Vince is such a wonderful person is because the truth is wonderful. And when the truth connects with people and you transcend. The cult of personality. And racial politics in all these silly things that we get caught up and there is there's something liberating that takes place you know you know the scripture and it's not meeting and in this context. But the truth shall set you free. Freedom is -- you know the truth is liberating. And as we know the opposite brings us into bondage. One of the things I mentioned one of the reasons I brought up the book 5000 year leap. This has become the new paradigm by which I view politics. I don't care to talk about left and right anymore. I have a guest on the show in fact I probably wouldn't agree this politics but I had a guest on my program and Charlotte. Is say a friend of mine that I've known for many years. Back in Kentucky. And I haven't come on did you share about his journey the reason I wanted to talk to because. He was told that he may not survive very long because he had diabetes and Tenet you know -- since he was a child. And she's a little bit older than I am. And I just noticed this FaceBook posting of this about you or are you gonna come on the program some time and share your story and he did. And and it was really an attitude of thankful -- that he has -- for being a life. Which is what I was looking for more and anything but I want something else that he said. Did you know. I don't get into left and right week. That's for chickens. And I think that's a great point. Let me give you a new paradigm to consider and this is something that I gleaned from the book 5000 year leap. It is the true paradigm. Is not one of left and right. The true paradigm. Is that careful balance. Between anarchy. And tyranny. That's all that matters. Finding that delicate balance between anarchy. And tyranny. Any other descriptions are really. Mindless and meaningless. I'm just throwing this out to you because I think it's important that we begin changing our language. And I think there are things that sometimes. Unnecessarily. Turn people off. And unnecessarily. Distract from what's really important. By the way. Here's another here's another thing for you to consider. You watch them the documentary called runaway slave and by CL Bryant if you have not. I want to encourage you to do that. Make it -- right now do not forget. I was very surprised you today I don't see the premiere this video and Dallas Texas a last year. -- In doing a search the and a dad I would order this video which -- still haven't need to get around to that but I notice that it's streaming free I Netflix right now. I warned you every single person within the sound in my voice. I want you go. And did your family together maybe even some of your neighbors and I want you watched runaway slave. And you'll understand. Why IBM. Bringing this up in the context of language. What are things I gleaned from that. Is the background on the word conservative. Now what's interesting is I completely forgotten about this particular element you know how it is when you read something or watch something. More than once you pick up different things each time. And one of the things I learned in here is that. The word conservative. For a lot of people in the black community. Reminds them of conservative Democrats. These -- the the men who opposed. The efforts to integrate society they were segregationist. Uninteresting isn't it. So when you might -- -- conservative. You might be thinking about being responsible being. Fiscally. Smart in the way that -- the budget -- government operations are carried out he might be thinking about limited government. But other people you may mean something else entirely so it's not. What do you say that it's important it's what other people here. So that's the reason I share that by the way. I do wanna encourage you watch runaway slave. This documentary by the way was stunned by C O'Brien to. Used to be the local chapter president of the NAACP and used to be a pastor. And it's it was a situation where he is ultimately unwelcome in both because of his views. He is a very loyal American. He does not believe. That it is. Responsible. To promote the the aborting babies. He does not believe. It and it basically carrying the water for the Democrat party. But it helps you understand the history. And how in fact there was a transition a lot of people don't know this but most blacks used to be Republican. I mean they -- famous Republicans like Frederick Douglass. And unfortunately what's happens. And and I don't I don't mind saying this. It wouldn't this make a great line during a campaign. I may Frederick -- Republican I'm not a John Boehner Republican. I am not a Mitch McConnell Republican. Boy that'll. Cause a few circuits to block. You of course know what's going on with the ongoing battle. Paul Byrd the establishment Republicans verses the Tea Party or liberty minded people. In fact when people ask me what I am that's how I describe myself I focus on liberty. He once you. I don't want a label. To close the door to communication. Really good part of the time once they put a label on you. Nobody wants to hear what you have to say. Because they think they've already heard it because the news media has. Told themselves. -- you know how this works. So within the context of understanding this careful balance between. Tyranny. And anarchy. Consider this story. Justin a marsh by the way as I understand who is one of the people who finds himself. In a strange place. Because the leadership of the Republican Party does not like just in a much. He believes that congress must correct the dangerous path upon which president Barack Obama has set the nation. It's the job of congress to step up and take charge and point out when the president's going beyond his constitutional powers. This is what a marsh said during an exclusive dinner with the -- interview with the daily caller he described the direction the country's going as scary. And accused President Obama setting the stage for something very dangerous in the future. I think it's scary the direction the government's going regardless whether you have Republican president or democratic president. We have an executive branch that it's getting way too powerful. And president Obama's setting the stage for something very dangerous. A Marshall also criticized the current congress for failing to thwart Obama's agenda. I think it's our congress we have to step up and point out when the president is going beyond his constitutional powers which is frequent. And we've got to do something about it and we haven't done that as a congress. Just demarche. Is speaking words of truth. By the way I heard from reliable sources on this but just at a march. Has difficulty in dealing with the leadership. He has trouble getting bills to the floor. Because of his more libertarian type positions but in the libertarian in the liberty circles. This man is a rock star. I would also tell you something else in in this ties him with what we've just communicated the concern about overreaching executive power. This is the time in history. Where we as -- liberty minded people are going to have to step up to the plate to financially. And it every other way support people like Justin a much. What do I say this. One of the conversations I had recently. Was with a member of congress who was talking about how even Tea Party candidates. In many ways are dependent on money from the establishment. This should not be. If we really want to see something accomplished in Washington DC. We are going to have to step up to the plate in every way. I think there's a big opportunity coming up in -- fourteen it's an opportunity for us. This liberty minded Americans. To help real the country back and a different direction away firm security. But it's going to take the right kind of people elected. You have an opportunity down here in South Carolina -- for -- by the way in the interest of full disclosure. I have repeatedly reached out to Lindsey Graham. I think you know by now I'm not a Lindsey Graham fan. But it all fairness I am willing and I'd love for him to come on here the -- -- program. -- for the second time I was pretty much rebuffed and told. That mr. Graham is probably not going to be available this man needs to be replaced and I think I've made that very clear. Mitch McConnell needs -- ago. John Boehner needs to go. Let's make sure we make the most of this opportunity. In the atmosphere of understanding the obamacare debacle. Let's not let's. The establishment Republican Party. Ride in. And it's essentially continue what they've been doing for years. We love to get your thoughts on this the Eagles advantage talk whenever she Greenville it's 232 word Spartanburg 574 -- 9673. It's been the odd thing about this president. Everyone is too busy being afraid of saying anything against this president not to not time being afraid of what he is doing. Is -- a great point. You know what are the concerns I think it's been expressed before is. Also what's going on -- all these SARS and then -- it what do you think he'd been doing. What their time. Is this to me is not about words this is again this is about what is being done. And I agree with Justin -- -- point. -- one of the problems that we have right now is -- we've really got a void of leadership. I mean I want should think for a moment I want you look at the Republican Party can you point out to meet who is leading. Can you do that. What things are really ticked me off but I can't remember I put a clip of someone. Who was taking cheap shots at Ted Cruz and all these other guys. And they were saying you know the leadership needed to rein them in or whatever I thought to myself you know this is kind of interesting. John Boehner and these other guys are supposed to be the leaders. Can you show me how they are leading right now. What is Mitch McConnell doing. What is he doing to stand against tyranny. What is John Boehner -- to stand against security. If you really wanna get worked up. This -- really ticked you off. I just finished reading a book called extortion. By Peter Schweitzer you may be familiar with him he wrote a book called throw the ball out we're talking about insider trading and how. Government officials can participate in insider trading members of congress can do it. They can do what you can't do you do the stuff they do you'll be in prison. I mean think about it. Martha Stewart. I mean this woman was pretty much. I -- talk about being thrown under the bus and I'm not trying to cover for Martha Stewart. But none of that would have happened. None -- it. If she were a member of congress. But unfortunately this is the way they have set up the system this is what we mean by the ruling political class. This is the other thing that I want you to consider in your conversations about these issues. Get rid of the Democrat Republican garbage. RH. What needs to be understood. As we've got a class of Democrats and Republicans who have set themselves up. -- against the constitution of the United States and they believe that they have a right to rule over year that's what hideous. That's what you have to understand. So we get to understand that issue. Again if you start talking like that's. Do you think people will be intrigued him want to know more I would. But if you come in and your rob rob Republican Party and have you seen any thing that really -- anyone to be Republican Party I haven't. I only see two people or three people leaving. Only people I see the courage of conviction. I important to about two or three of them. On the senate side it's Rand Paul it's Ted Cruz and Mike -- By the way I. I -- members of the South Carolina delegation. And there's another name to add to list actually one I'm not been familiar with effect haven't talked to him yet but I hope to very soon. There's a story that appears. That makes reference to. Someone who is ready to stand up to presidential power. And it's one of your members of congress here in South Carolina. You of course know. That this has been a president you know -- does not know the meaning of the word overreach. And won the evidences of this has been the ongoing changes to obamacare. Now there they are so many problems and obamacare that we just can't begin to go into all of them right now. First off I think this is a piece of toilet paper all of it and one of the major reasons it is. What was put together here was what I call leaving legislation. I'll just coined that -- That's pretty get. Here's what you mean by living legislation what it means is. That is its winds just passed by congress it isn't finished. It continues to be written and rewritten and rewritten and revised and added to. This to me is illegal. I cannot imagine. On any scale. That the founding fathers would have approved of this as being acceptable for congress. I don't believe it's except for congress. To basically ceded its legislative authority. To an agency to rights law. I think that's unconstitutional. In fact as an aside. Let me -- another radical thought do you instead of focusing on entitlement issues. As liberty minded people. You know after reading the book extortion. The first thing that I wanna tear down. Is not the entitlements. That we didn't concern about for quite some time. At least not the ones that you would typically think of I -- tear down the entitlements. Infrastructure. In Washington DC. What do I mean by this. I mean that would just made. These zip codes around Washington DC wealthy. That's what needs to be torn down this entire infrastructure. That's basically going into the pockets. Of bureaucrats and their friends. Let me give you an example of this. And perhaps we'll share with you and interview. With Peter Schweitzer on this book. -- -- -- Here's the type of thing that they do. Staffers will write pieces of legislation. And then they walled turnarounds. Once they're done because these staffers these congressional -- stay as staffers they don't make squat okay. They're making beams. So what they'll do is they'll write this really complicated piece of legislation and then guess what they do. Then they quit and go work as consultants. To help people in the business world comply with the regulations. This is what's going on in Washington DC right now. Business -- is what it is. Now up in one sense you can't blame the people who are writing this riding this wave they're making a lot of money. You don't do blame the politicians for empowering this kind of activity. It's really criminal. It is profoundly criminal. Supporting the part of the point I'm making here is. If we really wanna get traction. And you wanna get a broad tent of people don't -- garbage like immigration reform. Let's talk about -- the American people taking back their government from the political establishment that is enriching themselves and their friends. That needs to be campaign issue. Number one. And you summing up all under one and better. Freedom. Freedom. Freedom. That's what's on the ballot where is what is your stand on freedoms -- or what is your stand on freedom man. And your opinion in your perspective on that's. If you screw that up. There's nothing else you can get right. It's just that simple. That I may reference to a little bit earlier and this relates to be Affordable Care Act. All of these changes the president's made changing this deadline making these waivers. Available to his friends like the unions. And certain companies. Businesses getting exemption. From their mandate. That's been put off. And now we've got the individual mandate that's been delayed for those people who have lost their insurance. One member of congress. Has had enough his name is representative Tom rice. Sponsored a bill known as the stop this overreaching presidency act. Pretty clever -- Here's what he had to say. Article two section three requires the president to faithfully execute the laws of the United States. Everybody's bound by the law right after the president he is not exempt -- from presence allowed to pick and choose which laws he wishes to enforce. It creates tremendous opportunities for wrong doing. We see -- the next president who came in decided he didn't like obamacare and he wasn't going to enforce any part of it. What we say from presidents decided he wasn't going to enforce the maximum -- on the income tax. -- wasn't going to enforce the income tax on his political friends. Of course those things would not be tolerated. We got a similar type. Tough lines going on here the obamacare we've got the president giving thirteen hundred exemptions. We've got him waving the employer mandate for businesses but applying the individual mandate for the common conservative. Stuff right. The laws got to be applied uniformly. Now representative rice said he started working on this in July. Right after the extension be employer mandate was in the media one of the democratic senators said how can the president do this. And he said that's what spurred him to look at what we continue to force the president to enforce. The law. And the changes to obamacare not the only things that rice is focusing on.
